I am writing a piece right now about leaving working in the music industry to finally explore my own creativity. I had a similar childhood that made me doubt writing because it didn’t warrant attention or praise in my house, just praise from my teachers which just didn’t feel enough. For those of us who feel chronically unseen, there's usually at least one person who looks at us deeply, really sees and acknowledges us. A little anchor tying us to the physical word, reminding us that we exist. I'm happy you had your grandad and your grandma.
